Is the world a show where the United States hides its hegemony with lies
“China is irresponsible,” “China has overreacted,” and “China has carried out provocative military actions.” After the US politician Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan was met with strong countermeasures, Washington did everything possible to throw dirty water on China. It must have felt guilty in the face of the voice of justice in the international community that firmly supported the one-China principle.
The poor performance is really eye-opening. It was the United States that provoked the trouble, the United States created the crisis, and it was the United States that kept escalating tensions. Ugly and bad things are done first, followed by a rake. The United States once again staged a farce of a thief shouting to catch a thief.
The Taiwan question concerns China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Could it be that China is responsible for swallowing the bitter fruit resignedly, that it responds appropriately, and that it is not provocative? China does not cause trouble and is not afraid of trouble. When has China ever been vague on issues concerning its core interests?
To sort out the various unreasonable and unreasonable theories of the United States, it boils down to one sentence: China is “unilaterally changing the status quo”.
In international law, “status quo” refers to a factual or political state within a certain period of time, which only applies to the territorial division of states, and does not adjust a state’s internal affairs. Taiwan is part of China’s territory, and cross-strait relations are China’s internal affairs, which do not involve disputed territorial divisions between countries. The U.S. side frequently uses the “status quo” to talk about things with hidden evil intentions, that is, it attempts to distort the relationship between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait as a relationship between countries, and create a blindfold for “two Chinas” and “one China, one Taiwan”.
Taiwan has never been a country, there is only one China, and both sides of the strait belong to the same country. This is the status quo of Taiwan since ancient times. The government of the People’s Republic of China is the only legitimate government representing the whole of China, and Taiwan is a part of China. This is the status quo across the Taiwan Strait that has remained unchanged for decades. The one-China principle is a clear definition of the status quo across the Taiwan Strait. To distort and provoke the one-China principle is to change the status quo across the Taiwan Strait. It is not China that is changing the status quo in the Taiwan Strait, but the separatist forces of the United States and Taiwan who are trying to “control China with Taiwan”. China’s countermeasures are precisely to maintain peace in the Taiwan Strait and regional stability.
From the perspective of international law, the slandering and slandering of China by the United States is fundamentally untenable.
The so-called “provocative military action” and “unilateral use of force” disregard the fact that Taiwan is my country’s territory rather than an independent country, and deliberately apply the prohibition of “threat of force” and “illegal use of force” on the Taiwan issue to deal with inter-state relations. The rules of relationship are typical stealing and trying to fish in troubled waters.
According to international law, any country has the obligation to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of other countries and not to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries. International law also grants every country the right to take necessary measures to maintain sovereignty and territorial integrity and prevent external interference. Pelosi’s visit is a blatant provocation by the U.S. side. My military exercise in the relevant waters is a necessary measure to counter external interference, curb “Taiwan independence” separatist attempts, and safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity. Our military training activities are open, transparent and professional, in line with international law and international practice, and also fulfill the sacred duties entrusted by the “Constitution of the People’s Republic of China”, “Anti-Secession Law”, “National Defense Law of the People’s Republic of China” and other laws.
The United States is not only a permanent member of the UN Security Council, but also the number one power in the world today. Whether the U.S. really doesn’t even understand the basic legal concepts and their scope of application, or pretends to be confused and acts recklessly, it is a very dangerous thing. Some US politicians openly took risks on the Taiwan issue, and their ugly and rambunctious faces have once again made the international community feel the threat and challenge of the post-war international order and the basic norms of international relations. China’s countermeasures are not only defending the country’s core interests, but also effectively safeguarding the principle of non-interference in internal affairs, international law and regional peace.
Having dealt with China for so many years, the United States should have a clear understanding of China’s firm will to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity. Regarding the serious provocative actions of the US that violated China’s sovereignty and interfered in China’s internal affairs, as long as the US does it once, China will fight resolutely once, and will never allow China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity to be trampled on and undermined. Here, we warn some US politicians not to play with fire on the Taiwan issue, and those who play with fire will set themselves on fire.
