Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, August 2. Title : Brutal interference in China’s internal affairs is unpopular, international law and basic norms of international relations cannot be trampled on — people from many countries severely criticize Pelosi for visiting Taiwan

US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan on the 2nd. People from many countries have severely criticized this, pointing out that this move seriously violated China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, seriously undermined the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait, and seriously violated international law and basic norms of international relations. Pelosi’s move is unpopular in the international community and is doomed to be fruitless.

China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity cannot be violated

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told the media when talking about Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan that Russia remains in solidarity with China on the Taiwan issue. “We respect China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. We believe that no country in the world has the right to question this or take any inflammatory or other actions.”

“The U.S. lacks respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of other countries, and acts recklessly for its own geopolitical interests.” Ghassan Youssef, an expert on Syrian political issues, commented that China will surely take strong countermeasures and resolutely safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity .

According to Hassan Aslam Shad, a Pakistani international law expert, the United States’ attempt to turn Taiwan into a pawn to contain China, to test China’s bottom line and challenge China’s core interests, is essentially an attempt to contain China’s peaceful development.

“The U.S. says one thing and does another when it comes to Taiwan-related issues, which cannot be trusted. All issues arising from Pelosi’s visit lie with the U.S. side, and all consequences should be borne by the U.S. side,” Shad said.

Nouha Begir, a professor of political science at the American University in Cairo, Egypt, noted that China had previously issued a stern warning to the United States. She pointed out that the United States should understand that China will never sit idly by if it grossly interferes in China’s internal affairs.

“The United States wants to stop provocation against China, and Pelosi will not bring any benefits to Taiwan.” Mustafa Noyan Rona, a former Turkish diplomat in China, said that China took countermeasures to demonstrate its anti-independence “With the determination to promote reunification, the Chinese people will be more united.

Challenging the one-China principle is futile

“The Philippine Star” columnist Li Tianrong pointed out that the United States has repeatedly reiterated that the United States’ one-China policy will not change, but some politicians are trying to challenge the one-China principle and break the political bottom line, which shows that some people in the United States have duplicitous political commitments.

Shad pointed out that Pelosi’s activities in Taiwan violated the US commitment to China and was a serious provocation. “The one-China principle is a general consensus of the international community. Taiwan is a part of China, which is a fact that will not change. The US must abide by the three Sino-US joint communiques and abide by the one-China principle.”

Bambang Suryono, chairman of the Asian Innovation Research Center, an Indonesian think tank, said: “The US official’s visit to Taiwan seriously violates the one-China principle and seriously undermines the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait. The US insists on the one-China policy verbally, but acts rudely with two sides. Interfering in China’s internal affairs should be strongly condemned.”

People from many countries have solemnly pointed out that it is futile to challenge the one-China principle. “The world has always supported the one-China principle,” said Joseph Mathews, a senior professor at Belta International University in Cambodia. “Pelosi’s activities in Taiwan are reckless, illegal and futile, damaging the international credibility of the United States and seriously violating one Chinese principles.”

William Jones, Washington bureau chief of the US “Global Strategic Information” magazine, pointed out that Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan is a “foolish move” that “will undoubtedly bring serious consequences to the United States.”

Rangarirai Shok, editor-in-chief of the Zimbabwe Pan African News Agency, said: “Some US politicians will inevitably fail if they provoke China on the Taiwan issue involving China’s core interests.”

International law and basic norms of international relations cannot be trampled on

Spanish Communist Party Chairman Jose Luis Centella pointed out that Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan constitutes a serious provocation, and “the United States is embarking on an irresponsible path to intensify tensions with China”, which seriously undermines international law and international relations Basic guidelines. He said that the Spanish Communist Party believes that the visit will not only affect Sino-US relations, but also “will have a negative impact on the entire world.”

Zivadin Jovanovic, a former senior Serbian diplomat and chairman of the Belgrade World Forum for Equality, said bluntly that Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan shows that the United States completely ignores the norms of international law. Such a policy is dangerous.

Shad pointed out that Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan violated the UN Charter and the norms of international law, and China has the right to take countermeasures.

Li Tianrong said that the development of the world is facing many uncertainties. The United States is trying to play with fire and trickery on the Taiwan issue, which may trigger regional tensions, undermine regional stability and hinder recovery and development.

Kim Ping, director of the Institute of International Relations of the Royal Academy of Cambodia, said that Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan is a provocation to China, which will damage Sino-US relations and undermine regional and world stability. Jin Ping pointed out that the United States should cooperate with China in maintaining the stability of global industrial and supply chains, fighting the epidemic and economic recovery, rather than inciting regional and global instability.

Selcuk Cholakoglu, director of Turkey’s Asia-Pacific Research Center, believes that Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan has exacerbated tensions between China and the United States. “The visit has sparked a new trouble between the world’s two largest economies” with serious consequences for the world economy and global supply chains.

Guinea-Bissau political scientist Suleiman Kasama emphasized that Taiwan has been Chinese territory since ancient times, and Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan once again confirmed that “the United States is the problem maker in the world.”
